Western Australia’s beer-brewing culture has grown exponentially over the years. From a handful of no-frills breweries a few decades ago, to now, where there’s a brewery in every other inner-city suburb; Burswood, East Perth, Leederville, Subi, Maylands and more. Jindong crew, Rocky Ridge opened their first Perth brew pub in the northern ‘burbs hub of Duncraig. Not only do they pull a crafty pint, they also pull a crowd for their interesting menu and breezy vibe.

I’ve visited the Duncraig taphouse for a casual pint and feed many times since it opened in February 2025. A certain Mr H is so dedicated to Rocky Ridge, he has a tribute permanently inked on his beer drinking arm.

The mecca for craft beer sippers has a long bar lined with an impressive 40 taps. Open every day, they pour everything from easy-to-drink sours to wintery stouts and the popular Jindong Juicy. It’s a perfect place to get a little adventurous with a tasting paddle.

For fans of the first Rocky Ridge outpost in Busselton, this spot has a similar “casual cottage” feel. You could be sat in the back yard of a mate’s place. We usually choose to park ourselves under the dappled light of a huge maple tree for a couple of hours. Sherbert sour beer Rock Candy is always a favourite. Mr H was happy to see Kandy Karl back on tap too.

Not a beer drinker? There’s plenty of other tempting sips – ginger beer, wine, cider, even a mango punch.
Rocky Ridge Duncraig Menu
The tasty menu is a selection of share ‘things to eat with beer’, tacos, burgers, salads, and more. Here’s just a few things we’ve eaten at Rocky Ridge Duncraig:
Chips with house made seasoning are an easy go-to. Please note, this menu pictured is from 2025.

Recently, we shared the brisket loaded fries, with sour cream, tomato and mozzarella. I think at $20, the bowl of generously topped chips is decent value for money. It definitely made for a crowd-pleasing share plate, though there was a touch too much raw onion for my liking.

The succulent and tasty birria brisket sandwich with mozzarella, pickled onion, lettuce, and birria dipping sauce, on Turkish bread was very good. Served with chips.

Rocky Ridge Duncraig Gluten Free
I loved the ribs they had on the menu earlier this year. Sadly (for me) these were replaced with a non-GF version. All in all, there are enough gluten free options to satisfy most people, though there’s just one dessert option. I think if there’s just one option, it needs to cover all dietry bases, but this is a non-GF brownie. I wish this was gluten free, as I so often feel like dessert.

Rocky Ridge Duncraig Taphouse is a solid pub-style spot, without the distraction of sports on big TVs. Here connection and chats come easy over a coldie or three. I only wish I lived closer, so I could call it my local. For southies, there’s a Rocky Ridge Burswood Beer Hall. I hear that Rocky Ridge will be opening another venue in the Margaret River region. Cheers to that!
