It’s not been too long since my last visit – but I cannot rave enough about the beer garden at The Rose and Crown Hotel in Guildford. If you’ve never been, do yourself a favour and go and have a lazy afternoon in the sun dappled garden. The historic hotel, has been beautifully restored, inside and out. I spent a Saturday Lunchtime there, with my work besties (Kez and Kimee) after a pamper morning. It was the perfect place to continue our relaxed vibe.
We had…
Caesar Salad – bacon, anchovy dressing, shaved parmesan, eggs, croutons and wood fired chicken
Sweet Potato Gnocci $28 – Pan fried, porcini mushrooms, spinach & parmesan cream sauce (This was mine and I thought it was delicious!)
Salt n pepper squid $16
We all enjoyed our lunch. For the most part, a lot of what’s on the menu is standard pub fare. Every time I’ve been (about 5 times now) it’s all been of very good quality and flavour. Which is why I’ll be back another 5 times… and probably some more!
