{NEW OPENING} Sistas Mindarie Marina

The word is out! Sistas Mindarie Marina has opened this week! If you follow me on Instagram, you may already know I was a regular at its sister venue Sistas Burns Beach for many years. I was stoked when Sistas owner Dion asked me to drop by to check out their new food offering, during their soft opening. Word was getting around and the shiny new spot is already bustling.

The old Dome venue is unrecognisable. Perched on the marina’s edge, the fresh, light dining room has cosy little booths, as well as spots to sit outside.

The doggo friendly tables outside overlook the marina. There’s a spots in the leafy rear courtyard too.

The coffee is by SoCo Roasters. I was very happy with a BIG flat white!

Sistas Mindarie – The Food

Head Chef Andy Moores has banged the pans in many quality Perth restaurants, including Print Hall, and headed up the Chinta kitchen. You’ll find his Burns Beach favourites the “Blackstone” and a slightly re-worked version of their popular rosti/potato hash at Mindarie. I ordered this very tasty dish, topped with runny poached eggs, bacon, and a heap of fresh rocket and parmesan shavings. The perfectly seasoned, crisp potato hash was accompanied by a seeded mustard sauce. I was pretty full after the generous portion.

On the all day menu, there’s some great lunch choices, plus big breakfasts, house made granola, smashed avo – you know the drill. There’s a few surprises too – the Buttermilk chicken waffles, and the Turkish eggs both look divine. My friend Reeva ordered smashed avo with feta and “African Rafiki” (a dukka-like spice blend). She enjoyed this, especially with a generous squeeze of lemon.

A liquor license is coming soon -that brings the promise of lazy, long lunches by the waterside – sounds amazing! Be sure to welcome Sistas Mindarie to the hood. Sistas Mindarie Marina is PERTHfect for a waterside brunch or lunch. The very friendly crew from the popular Burns Beach spot have elevated their already quality offering, I’m impressed.
