If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know that Burns Beach Café is one of my very favourite locals. It’s been undergoing a trendy facelift, with the latest stage involving a re-brand, outside paint job (including a cool new mural) and a spekky new sign – so you can’t miss Sistas Burns Beach! Chef and I were stoked to be invited in for brunch to check out the latest changes.

It’s about a year since the coastal café was transformed from the old “caravan park chic” to a much more fitting shiny and sleek look in the dining room. Now the outside has had a slick makeover, with a new paint job, and rebranding. There’s even a cool mural in the works! I’m told there’s more changes to come to the alfresco area too, so stay tuned.

We can be found at the café a few times a week, grabbing takeaway coffee, as we take our Ruby for an ocean-side walk. When we do stop by for a brunch or lunch, we know it’s going to be absolutely delicious. The kitchen team is so consistent and even with the new look – the old favourites are thankfully still on the menu!

Brunch at Sistas Burns Beach
The coastal spot’s coffee roast has changed to SoCo– which is creamy and smooth.

Though the cafe’s seen lots of change, don’t worry – old favourites like the rosti and “blackstone” dishes are still on the menu! Chef loved the beef brisket benedict dish, complete with runny poached eggs, super crisp potatoes and jalapenos.

As for me, I wanted to try something different and opted for a smoothie bowl, served in a coconut! The pink dragon fruit, mango and banana smoothie, made with chia and coconut milk and topped with loads of fresh fruit was healthy AND delicious.

And Little Chef was pleased as punch with his scrambled eggs and bacon on toast. A good portion for a kids meal.

The lunch menu has plenty of choice. There’s share plates and large plates, as well as hands on foods, like delicious burgers. Chef rates their burgers highly, and the Texan burger from our last visit did not disappoint.

Sistas café is dog friendly too. Ruby often sits in the alfresco area with us. There’s water bowls and a ‘Doggy Num Yum’s’ menu, which includes Doggy Pupsicles and porky ears.

Sistas Burns Beach Café’s quality offering of food and drink just keeps getting better. We’re so impressed with it’s new look and we’ll be back again and again.

Sistas Burns Beach is located at 35 Ocean Parade, Burns Beach.
