Gipsy Boy, Joondalup

Gipsy Boy Boutique Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

Run by sisters Kacie and Bekki, Gipsy Boy just celebrated it’s 3rd birthday. The café is a rare gem in Joondalup, a large town void of many quality independent cafes and restaurants. This lovely local of mine is just the type of place I like to brunch, but without the drive to inner city suburbs of Leederville and Mount Lawley. We’ve visited lots of times, as it’s so close to home, so this post is a combination of a few visits. I think we’ve tried most of what their yummy brunch menu has to offer!

The vintage-styled café is brimming with old style décor, teapots, lampshades and comfy chairs. Gipsy Boy is open for breakfast, lunch and “coffee and treats” – and not all of them are naughty! In the cabinet you’ll find a good range of raw snacks.

We think the coffee is top notch too. At Gipsy Boy they use a locally roasted blend from Micrology Coffee Roasters. They have a good selection of tea too, I really love the chai.

The Food

Behold…. the bacon and maple syrup French toast! A decedent brunch that just HAS to be tried. Served with fresh fruit and vanilla mascarpone.

Chef thinks the Breakfast enchiladas ($17) stuffed with Spanish beans, chorizo, rice, buttery scrambled eggs and cheddar with an avocado salsa on the side (and another side of bacon!) are a really tasty way to start the day and would totally order them again.

I had the Breakfast sliders, which were bloody fantastic ($17). Filled with crisp bacon, fried egg, sharp vintage cheddar, bbq sauce, chipotle and coriander slaw, with a nicely spicy tomato relish on the side. It’s brimming with flavour.

Little Chef tucked into his scrambled eggs and bacon on toast with a baby chino.

We’ve also enjoyed the mushroom and tomato medley and some top jaffles for lunch too (my pick is the sweet potato turkish!).

The café also doubles as a boutique. The boutique stocks ladies clothes with some gorgeous accessories too. It’s a good place to shop, while your fella is sitting happily with a full tummy and a coffee!

Gipsy Boy is a favourite local haunt of ours and we’ll be back again and again for their delicious brunches. Check it out!
