It’s no secret that Joondalup is also known as Little Britain. It’s home to thousands of ex-pats loving the white sandy beaches and year round sunshine. You’ll find many British themed spots in the area – that the Poms in Perth flock to – like the Great British Chippy, The Boat, The Duke and more. Another such spot has arrived in Joondalup, next door but one to Paddy Malones Irish Bar.IMG_1761

Co owners, brothers Dave and Karl are from Cornwall. Fitting then that traditional Cornish pasties feature on their menu. They also make sausage rolls, bread, pies, pasties, Scotch eggs and desserts daily. The local Irish community will love their freshly baked soda bread, bacon and cabbage pies and traditional Irish fry-ups too!IMG_1760

We popped by for a weekend fry-up. Chef chose the “Full Irish”, a generous serve of pork sausage and black and white pudding from McLoughlin Butchers, beans, bacon, potato and a fried egg.IMG_1753

Oh and on the side was some a slice of regular toast and a slice of soda bread too. All that and a cup of tea or coffee for $18.50.IMG_1757

The thought of a greasy fry up was very tempting (mmmm bacon!), but I am trying to be healthy! So I opted for the homemade granola with fruit salad, honey and yogurt. It was presented in a cute jar, which looked great, but not 100% practical when it came to fishing out large chunks of melon. The granola was nicely toasted and tasty.IMG_1755

There isn’t a children’s menu, but the friendly people at Celtic Kitchen were happy to make a little something for Little Chef. He was stoked with a bacon and egg sarnie and gobbled it down in no time.IMG_1752

On my way out I spied all the baked savoury pastries and made a promise to myself I’d have to come back for lunch. A few days later, I popped in for a pork and apple sausage roll. The house made meat was delicious and encased in a golden pastry. On the side was some sharp cheddar and a bit of Bramston pickle. Lovely Jubbly!IMG_1858

I’ll be back for a pasty for sure. Check out Celtic Kitchen, for breakfast and lunch – they also sell their baked goods at Eden Beach Farmers Market.IMG_1763

    1. Hi Lisa,

It closed some time ago. There’s another café in it’s place, not sure what it’s called though.
