One of the things about blogging I love the most is stumbling over somewhere new that I’ve never heard of – especially if it’s local to us. Little Chef and I were at Currambine Central (where Grand Cinemas is) and just happened to find the recently opened Red Retro Café, right behind the Chapters Bistro restaurant. The quaint café is full of colourful mismatched furniture and some comfy looking sofas. Being a warm day, we sat outside in the little courtyard, where there is a lovely little fairy garden.
On the chalkboard are toasties and quiches which are very reasonably priced from $4. Breakfast is available all day. Little chef and I shared a giant piece of chocolate mud cake for afternoon tea. It was served warm and with lashings of sauce and cream. It was sinfully scrumptious! I had a chai latte too.
Red Retro is a cute little café, perfect for a coffee and cake or light bite to eat before going to the cinema. It also has a little nook of vintage inspired gifts and jewellery.
Find Red Retro at Shop 26B, Currambine Central Shopping Centre, 1244 Marmion Ave, Currambine (behind Chapters Bistro).
Great seeing all these new funky cafes springing up in the outer suburbs too. Love the decor on this one.
It is great to see – I get sick of driving to the city all the time! The décor is cool, very vibrant! 🙂
We’ve been here quite a few times. Never been disappointed. Good food, drinks and prices. Even the World Book encyclopaedias have proven to be a hit with my kids! 🙂
I’ll have to look out for the encyclopaedias next time! When we went, Little Chef looked at the type writer and asked if that’s what we used before computers in the olden days – it made me feel a bit old! haha Nice little spot 🙂
I have passed this lovely place many times without popping in for Coffee, but today I met a friend and we had delicious Coffee and enjoyed the ambience of the whole place, I love the Retro style of Vintage furniture, gifts and jewellery, I shall certainly be returning.
It is lovely isn’t it Anne! I’m due another visit soon I think 🙂
We love this place! They do a delicious high tea too, for $25!
I love it here. Only recently discovered it despite living nearby for years. They do gourmet milkshakes now but not the ridiculously over the top ones that are taking over Perth. The Nutella Bomb is hands down the most delicious milkshake I’ve ever had! Going to try their new summer salad menu soon and I’m sure it won’t disappoint.
I’ll have to check the milkshakes out – thanks for the tip Megan 🙂
