I met a lovely friend of mine last week for coffee and cake at Café Elixir. Mrs C, a new mum, was having a well-deserved break. This café is always very busy and I often pass it when Little Chef and I are visiting the new Wanneroo Library – they are in the same building.
We both chose the Red Velvet Cake, from the large range of cakes on offer – they change daily. It looked rich and scrumptious, and it was!!
The coffee at Elixir is top notch. They use locally roasted Five Senses coffee, a favourite of mine. Elixirs coffee makers are all qualified baristas. I had a large Chai Latte – I love it when it’s served in the traditional bowl! It was spot-on.
Elixir is incredibly popular for breakfast and lunch. Next time I fully intend to try their breakfast/brunch menu. I’ve been kicking myself for not going more often, as this really should be my local! The staff are warm and welcoming, plus the café is child-friendly.
