Coming this April is a BRAND NEW food event concept! WA’s Great Graze will be a celebration of West Aussie food and beverages. The delicious event is also a great big “thank you” to our amazing farmers, fishers and producers for providing us with an incredible bounty of food.
COVID has spoilt many a foodie festival in the last 12 months. This is why WA’s Great Graze is even more special. It has the flexibility to be enjoyed at home, as well as in a group setting at a restaurant.
WA’s Great Graze has been created as a celebration of our state’s rich agriculture. Our state’s fantastic food producers have been growing and harvesting fresh produce for us to eat in food bowls like the Southern Forests and the Gascoyne regions. The Southern Forests, encapsulates areas like Manjimup and Pemberton. And many of the Gascoyne’s plantations lay just on the outskirts of Carnarvon.
So this April, get your grazing platters at the ready! Pack them full of the freshest, tastiest West Australian produce – from vibrant fruit and veg, to cheese, crackers, smallgoods and more… All washed down with a local beverage – of course!
Delicious grazing experiences will be happening from Carnarvon to Albany, and all around Perth. Here’s a few ways you can get involved in WA’s Great Graze:
Make a platter at home. You can order a specially curated platter online through foodie box company Dinner Twist. And the brilliant Black Pig Deli too!
Pick up all the ingredients you’ll need to create a grazing platter at the very special Great Graze market event at Perth City Farm. The family-friendly market day (on April 18th), features WA’s best apples and pears, Genuinely Southern Forests gourmet store, premium wine tasting and a celebration of the best of local agriculture. In the South West there are grazing events found at Abbey Vale Winery and Happs Winery. Plus an entire schedule of opportunities to sip, taste and explore the Southern Forests as part of the Pinot Picnic.
The Swan Valley will be hosting several grazing activations. These include drool-worthy grazing platters from Two Birds Fromagerie and Holy Mary Cellars, as well as wine and cheese pairings at the cellar door of John Kosovich Wines.
Albany’s CineFest Oz at the Albany Film Festival is packed full of special events in the region’s cinemas and picturesque venues. Visitors will get the chance to rub shoulders with filmmakers and special guests, while enjoying amazing grazing experiences.
Head to Nannup’s Chestnut Brae farm to join in on the chestnut harvest festivities. Walk amongst the chestnut trees, collecting the delicious nuts as you go. Bookings include a light lunch.
Explore the great outdoors with a Beach and Forest Eco Adventure in Pemberton. After an exhilarating 4WD off- road adventure through the Warren and D’Entrecasteaux National Park, graze on local, home made and seasonal produce.
Plus Carnarvon’s Great Graze will be held for the first time on the grassy banks of the Fascine. It’s a beautiful spot to devour the Gascoyne’s delicious bounty, while overlooking the palm-tree lined bay.
