Hillary’s favourite, 3 Sheets, has branched out and opened a second venue – 3 Sheets on the Lake in Woodlands. A third venue – 3 Sheets on the Tracks is opening at Butler soon. We popped by on a sunny weekday lunchtime, where we found the spot positively bursting at the seams.

The alfresco area, decorated with fake grass and colourful pots of blooms, is perfect chillaxing with a vino on a sunny day. Well behaved dogs are welcome here too.

There’s a big pub-style menu, with burgers, pasta, surf & turf, salads and more. I struggled a bit with choosing a GF option (more on that in a bit). I chose the grilled barramundi ($34), with a creamy Paris mash, broccolini, pesto cream sauce, and crunchy kale crisps. The fish was moist and delicious – great dish.

Another hit on our table was the bangers and mash ($26) with huge Irish pork sausage, Paris mash, onion gravy – all served in a giant Yorkshire pudding.

If you have young kids in tow, they’ll love the kids play area. There’s a cubby house, with slide, and play kitchen. The “Little Sheets” (!!) menu has plenty to choose from. Older kids (and many adults) will love the retro arcade game, which is free to use. Little Chef loved this and played donkey kong, pac man, pin ball and more.

The Gluten Factor
With a mammoth-sized menu, I had expected a better GF offering at 3 Sheets. There’s a whole heap of share plates – though olives are the only thing you can expect to enjoy if your a GF grazer. As for something more substantial… there are just nachos, steak and barramundi on offer. Strangely, even the salads are not GF, I assume as they use “bought in” dressings?! Burgers have a GF bun option too.

After a big meal, be sure to have walk around Jackadder Lake. A tip – book a table at 3 Sheets on the Lake. Though they keep tables free for walk ins, it can be difficult to get a spot at the busy venue during peak times.

Find 3 Sheets on the Lake at 88 Rosewood Avenue, Woodlands. (Not far from Innaloo Cinemas)
