Can’t be bothered cooking? Looking for a casual mid-week dinner? Well at just $35per person, Bistro 38 is looking like a very tempting option! For your deniros’ you get 3 courses of authentic Spanish flavours (cooked by the South American Head Chef, Eric) and a glass of Sangria on arrival.
We dined there last Wednesday. The Flamenco guitar in the background certainly set the mood for some Spanish food. Little Chef was bopping away to the beat; I could have busted out a rumba or two! But that would have been the Sangria talking…The Sangria (Spanish wine punch) was delicious and I loved the cinnamon flavours on a cool winters night.
The Entrée is a tapas plate to share. That includes;
-Grilled Chorizo
-Tomato bread with goats cheese
-Spanish Tortilla
-Salt Cod Croquettes (my favourite!)
– and other nibbles too
(Our plate was for 3 people to share)
For mains there is a choice of Chicken, Lamb Shank and Veg option. I had the Char Grilled Chicken & red pepper sauce, it was delicious. The Saffron rice was so so tasty and the chicken was very moist. It was a fiesta of flavour!! I was very happy with my choice! Bonito!!
The Tagine style lamb shank & preserved lemon cous cous was also very tasty and moist, I was told. All mains are served with “patas bravas” – Spanish fried potatoes. These were sprinkled with paprika and deep fried – also very good.
And we finished with gorgeous, light churros & melted chocolate to share. Churros means “Fritters” in Spanish. The doughnut-like churros are absolutely delicious!!
I’ll be heading there with the girls for a mid-week Sangria & catch up before the promotion is over. I’m quite sure it’s on for the next couple of months. Though you’d better be Speedy Gonzales to book a table, its proving to be very popular!! Ole’
** During this promotion the Kids Menu is still available on Wednesday nights**
We dined as guests of Joondalup Resort.
Thanks to Russel, Phil, Eric and their teams for a very enjoyable evening.
