Aloft Hotel Perth

The best thing for me, about a Perth stay-cay, is being able to fully enjoy myself! Long a designated driver, I rarely drink when I go out. So when I stayed at the vibrant Aloft Perth recently, I could fully let my hair down and enjoy a cheeky cocktail or three. We were there to check out their limited winter Ski Lodge special (August 2024) – scroll down the page for more on that.

Found a hop, skip and jump from Perth city, the airport and the Swan River, Aloft Hotel in Rivervale is so well located. Aloft Perth, part of the prestigious Marriott-Bonvoy chain, combines comfort with big splash of cool. The urban-inspired lobby defines the Aloft brand, plus the W XYZ Bar is found there too. The space is punctuated with bold and quirky furnishings, plus plenty of natural light.

Rooms at Aloft Perth

Home for the evening was a “Breezy King Guest room”, a light filled corner room.

The roomy spot features a king bed (which I found firm, but comfy enough), a large walk-in shower (with both rainfall and regular shower heads), a dining table for two, plus an (empty) mini bar and more.

The floor to ceiling windows offer sweeping views of the Swan River, to Perth Airport and the Perth Hills beyond. In-room amenities include Wi-Fi, a large 55-inch flat-screen TV with lots of digital and Foxtel channels, USB ports and good quality toiletries.

Aloft Ski Lodge Experience

Available for winter 2024 is the Aloft Ski Lodge Experience.

Rug up, hop on the ski lift (a fun photo opp) and get cosy by the fire at W XYZ Bar.

Their 80s-inspired Ski Lodge comes with cool cocktail specials, epic platters, and the full winter Ski Lodge Experience which includes:

Mr H and I loved the platter, particularly that ooey-gooey baked brie smothered in honey and the finger lickin’ good saucy BBQ ribs.

Dining at Aloft Perth

Foodies will enjoy the hotel’s different dining options. Springs Kitchen serves up a variety of Mod-Aus style dishes that focus on fresh, local produce.

Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty buffet breakfast, a quick lunch, or a leisurely dinner, the menu offers something for everyone – even a top coffee. There’s also bar bites at W XYZ and a casual pizza restaurant too.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner from the Springs Kitchen winter menu. We ate:

Tasty baby corn fritters with beetroot tapenade, fried sage, and a subtle cajun salt (vg) (gf)

Chargrilled Fremantle octopus with gnocchi, chorizo, basil olive dust and preserved lemon gel.

A tasty (and massive) braised lamb shank with potato mash, roasted ratatouille, fetta, olive gremolata (gfo).

A well-cooked grass-fed Beef Sirloin 300g, served with crisp potato rosti, cauliflower puree and broccolini and choice of sauces (Mr H chose the red wine jus) (gf).

For those who prefer to dine in their room, there’s room service, plus the hotel offers grab-and-go options at Re: Fuel by Aloft (a sort of DIY mini bar), which is why their mini bars are empty.

Amenities at Aloft Perth

The blue-tiful lap pool complete with huge, funky mural, looked so inviting. It would be a nice spot to unwind with a book on a sun lounger. It’s heated year-round and seemed pretty shady.

Aloft also offers a very well-equipped gym. There’s ping pong and foosball if you enjoy a bit of fun – or getting your butt kicked, like me!

Parking at Aloft Perth is super easy, with a secure onsite underground car park priced from $15 per day. Big thanks to Aloft’s front of house and kitchen teams for our memorable winter stay-cay. Aloft Hotel Perth offers a fun stay with all the handy amenities you need for a comfortable visit.
